Enemies To Lovers

A lighthearted romance that lacks depth.

An academic reconnects with her brother’s best friend during a family vacation.

Florence Greenberg, while working on her Ph.D. in English two years ago, was overcome with anxiety and imposter syndrome, leading to a month-long hospital stay and a temporary break from her studies. Now, with time and consistent therapy, Flo is ready to break free from her “fragile” label and have some fun. A two-week family holiday in sunny Greece seems the perfect escape. She’s fully embracing the vacation vibe—soaking up the sun, sipping aperitivos, and tuning out her

brother’s endless nagging. But her relaxed state shatters when Jamie Kramer, her brother’s best friend and her former fling-turned-foe, unexpectedly joins the family gathering. Without Flo’s knowledge, her parents had invited Jamie along. Right after her breakdown, Flo and Jamie had nearly sparked a romance—until he abruptly ended things with a note slipped under her door. Now, she has two weeks of close quarters with Jamie and only her lingering resentment to help her through it. Will Flo survive the family holiday without falling apart? And could close proximity spark old feelings?

Set against the idyllic Mediterranean, Williams’ latest romance is marred by juvenile humor and family dynamics that disrupt the otherwise scenic setting. With an overuse of slapstick moments, TikTok jokes, and petty antics, it’s hard to picture the men as successful professionals. Jamie and Flo’s interactions feel less like “enemies” and more like bickering teenagers. Their relationship has minimal depth, though it brings enough drama and flirtation for a quick beach read.

A lighthearted romance that lacks depth.
